Residents are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to their Town Councils. You may wish to visit your Town Council's website to gain a better understanding of their work. Click here to view the links to Town Councils’ websites. All Town Councils have a feedback channel for residents to contribute their views. Some Town Councils also gather residents’ views through avenues such as newsletters, online surveys, and block parties.
The Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) was introduced in Aug 2007 in response to feedback received from residents during the Forum on HDB Heartware for more active consultation.
Under the NRP, TC/HDB will actively engage residents on the proposed improvements for their neighbourhood through public forums such as Town Hall Meetings, block parties, mini-exhibitions and surveys.
With the emphasis on residents’ participation, the NRP enables residents to contribute actively in shaping their living environment. Read more about the NRP here.
You can also volunteer for your GROs to make a difference in your community and be part of a strong network of friends and neighbours who help each other in times of need. Find out more on how you can join your local GROs such as the Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) or the Residents’ Committee (RC) here.
